We happily welcome Mrs du Toit back to school today. She is fully recovered after her operation.
Congratulations to the Junior Rangers, Eco-Committee, Service Committee, Mrs Smith, Mrs Du Preez, Miss Kotze, Mr Proctor, Sofonias Negussie and Brian Callow for a very well-run Eco-Beau Fashion Show last Thursday. Winners of the various sections are:

PEPPS Idols takes place on Tuesday night at 18h00 for 18h30. Tickets are R10 and available from Mr Mashala.
The Inter-House General Knowledge competition will take place this Wednesday, 21 August, from 14h00 to 15h00. It is compulsory for everyone, except the matrics, to attend.
The matrics will finish school this Tuesday in preparation for the Prelim exams. We wish them every success for the exams and have high expectations as to what they can continue to achieve. Please will all matrics stay behind after assembly.
The duties of the prefects are being taken over by the Grade 11s. The Grade 11s assigned to do duties carry the same authority as prefects and I expect the school to work with them as they carry out their responsibilities.
Grade 9s are reminded to hand in outstanding subject choice sheets to the office immediately after assembly.
Re-enrolment forms were given out on Friday and must be returned by 30 August to secure your space in the school for next year. Parents of learners who did not receive a re-enrolment form have been asked to fetch a letter from the office.
Testing for learners who would like to attend PEPPS next year (Grade 9 – 11) will take place this Saturday from 08h00 until 10h00.
- If you miss a test on Tuesday or Thursday, your doctor’s letter or letter of reasonable explanation from a parent must be given to the teacher of the subject for which you missed the test on the day that you return to school.
- The subject teacher must sign the note and send it to Mrs du Toit.
- The test must be caught up the very next Monday. If Mrs du Toit does not have a doctor’s note or parent’s note signed by the subject teacher, the learner may not write the test. If a learner does not arrive to write the test the first Monday after they are back at school they forfeit the opportunity to write the test and will be given 0%.
- All Star, Levi, Converse takkies may not be worn as part of the sports uniform. Proper running shoes must be worn.
- Learners may not wear sports uniform to school if they are playing matches after school. They must bring their sports kit to change into after school.
Extra-Mural Announcements 19 August 2013
The Boys 1st XI had a convincing victory over Mitchell House with Michael Gelderman scoring 103 not out and taking 2 wickets. Mitchell House scored 125/8 and PEPPS 126/1 giving PEPPS a nine wicket victory.

This week the boys play Mitchell House at Mitchell House on Wednesday in the third and final match of the three match series.
PEPPS play Tom Naude at Tom Naude on Saturday.
PEPPS 1st XI beat Mahwelereng by 216 runs. PEPPS scored 258/4 with Shoki Mataludi scoring 43 and Merissa Joubert scoring 39. Mahwelereng scored 43 all out with Marle Bezuidenhout taking 3/19 off 4 overs and Sheri-Lee Vilar 2/8 off 2.4 overs.

This week the U/15 and 1st Girls’Teams play Eagles Nest at PEPPS on Tuesday and the Girls’ 1st Team play Northern Academy at Northern Academy on Thursday.
Khanyisa Anniversary Tournament
Our U/14 and U/16 Netball Teams and our U/15 and 1st Team Football Teams as well as Volleyball and tug-of-war teams play in a tournament in Giyani this Saturday. Busses depart PEPPS at 05H30 and return at about 17H30. All players attending must please return their tear-off slips.
A boys and girls cross country team compete in an inter-schools cross country event at Stanford Lake College on Friday afternoon.
The Grand Finale of the Polokwane Debating League takes place at Jack Botes Hall on Wednesday. Debaters leave PEPPS at 14H00.
The Inter-House General Knowledge Quiz takes place on Wednedsay between 14H15 and 15H15. This is a compulsory event for all pupils not involved in matches. There will be no sports practices on Wednesday because of this.
